God’s Creation

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. God created man in his own image, male and female.  God created us to have a relationship with him. The standard of God is righteousness and holiness.

And God commanded the man not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil as he would certainly die. In the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve were tempted by the devil and they ate from the tree. This is when sin entered the world.

Sin Entered the World

Because the standard of God is holiness, sin separate us from him. Sin creates a separation between us and God. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Jesus Paid the Price

Jesus came down as God in the flesh. Born of a virgin. Fully man and fully human He lived a perfect life free from sin. He was the only man ever who lived a sinless life.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins and resurrected after 3 days. He paid for all of our sins upon that cross. He defeated death. Through the blood of Jesus we are redeemed.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23

Repentance

Jesus calls us into repentance of our sin. Because of sin we are separated from God. Repentance means to turn away from sin. It is a change of heart and mind. God calls us to repent and believe in the gospel, receiving forgiveness and new life through him.

“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” – Mark 1:15

The Gift of Grace

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – Ephesians 2:8

Grace is the gift from God. We cannot save ourselves by our own works or effort. It is by faith that we receive this gift, in trusting the finished works of Jesus on the cross.

Salvation

Who can be saved? Anyone who believes from their heart that Jesus is your Lord and saviour. When we turn from sin and believe in Him, we are forgiven.

Salvation is not about being perfect, but about placing our trust in Jesus.

“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” – Mark 2:17

Many people believe they are not good enough to come to God, or that they have to wait for the right time. But Jesus invites us to come as we are. We do not clean ourselves up before coming to Him—He is the one who changes us. There is no perfect time to accept Jesus. God meets us where we are and offers grace freely.

God gives us the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. As we continue to walk with God, He transforms our hearts and renews our minds. Through faith, we are made new.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, – Romans 8:1-3
